SuperSTAR Simplifies All Census Phases

National Statistic Offices use SuperSTAR in the following phases of a census:

  1. Evaluating questionnaire trials — Run check tables against census trials; nest or sub-nest fields in a table; recode fields; create derived (synthetic) fields; calculate totals, percentages and averages; view cells; view common statistics; export cells.

  2. Collecting for data validation / Post enumeration surveys analysis — Tabulate survey results after they are loaded to check results including relationships between variables, spatial relationships, and summary statistics.

  3. Producing tables — Set up tables in advance, and then tabulate in batch once the census master file is ready.

  4. Responding to ad hoc queries — Quickly respond to government and public requests for ad hoc census tables. Apply Duty of Care functions and advanced confidentiality routines to preserve confidentiality.

  5. Disseminating data to the public via the Internet — Tailor the dissemination method to provide the appropriate level of information and interaction for public users.
